On the second day of the visit, the Japanese dental professionals were introduced to Ison Omenan Hammaslääkärit, a private dental clinic in Espoo. This was the second time Novocam Medical Innovations together with Ison Omenan Hammaslääkärit arranged this opportunity for Japanese visitors to come and learn about working at a Finnish dental clinic.
Dentists had a chance to observe doctor Rusanen work with his patients. Not only had the guests a chance to see how dentistry is done in Finland but they also saw the benefits of using video in tretment planning and home care guidance. Loupe-mounted dental camera captures the exact point of view of the dentist which made following dr Rusanen's work smooth for all the viewers.
With Futudent's dental video solution, there was no need to watch the operation in the same room but it was seen in detail on screens in another room.
In the meantime, dental hygienist Tiina Niemi-Korpi showed her Japanese colleagues how a Finnish dental hygienist works. Guests were excited to see her work and made small notes about the differences between the two cultures. Tiina has used Futudent's dental video camera in her everyday work for three years and now showed how easily it fits her workflow.
Each guest got a teeth cleaning and their own personal MyDentalbook home care video showing the use of electric brush and interdental brush. The good care and the personal oral health instruction video made a huge impression to the guests. Dental hygienist Kumiko Nakashima used her travel dictionary to express her feelings: "I was moved to tears. I was deeply impressed."
The day continued at Nuuksio National Park where we had dinner at a 200 years old house, Torppa. Pancakes and blueberries were a big hit with the group and hospitability of Green Window staff memorable.
Before the evening turned into night, our guests had a chance to enjoy the beautiful Kaitlampi lake view where they, for the first time, got to experience smoke sauna and swimming in the lake. The evening was a lovely ending to a eventful trip. Parting in the warm autumn night we agreed to see each other soon again.
